########################################################################################## ADBLK-7: Split grey-area stuff out to separate list ########################################################################################## Issue Type: Task ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Issue Information ==================== Priority: Major Status: Open Resolution: Unresolved Project: Adblock Lists (ADBLK) Reported By: btasker Assigned To: btasker Time Estimate: 0 minutes Time Logged: 0 minutes ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Issue Description ================== Yesterday I blocked Pushly in ADBLK-6 But, it's not (strictly speaking) ad or tracking code, it's just un-necessary code (which could be used to track), so rather then being definitely undesirable is Potentially Undesirable. So, should create a new list for Potentially Undesirable Shit that stuff like Pushly can go on - the PUS list. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Activity ========== ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2019-06-10 17:32:53 btasker ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One issue with doing this, though, is really it'd mean duplicating various lists. Currently we have the following list generated from the sources - Full Autolist: https://www.bentasker.co.uk/adblock/autolist.txt - Adblock sytax compiled: https://www.bentasker.co.uk/adblock/adblock_compiled.txt - Modified version of Easylist: https://www.bentasker.co.uk/adblock/easylist_modified.txt - Blocked domain list (for PiHole): https://www.bentasker.co.uk/adblock/blockeddomains.txt - ADBLK-8 Blocked zones unbound format: https://www.bentasker.co.uk/adblock/zoneblocks.unbound.txt To implement this task, a second version of each of those would need to be made so there's one with the grey area stuff, and one without. If the grey-area stuff is sufficiently grey, then the default should probably be without. The list are already starting to cry out for a bit of tidying/reorganising, so I don't know if I want to rush into making more lists. Looking over the blocked pages, Pushly is the main one that could be considered a bit of a grey-area so there probably isn't actually that much rush with this.
