The automatic wifi connection defaults to disabled when the vehicle is moving. However, it seems that the state sometimes gets stuck so even when the vehicle's not moving the wifi refuses to try and connect.
Commit 89a608d changes the default configuration so that Wifi can attempt connection when the vehicle is in motion. However, need to find why the state sticks.
